Resumo

This contribution to indigenous studies was presented on April 26, 2012, the Brazilian Academy of Letters (ABL), Seminar in Brazil, Brazils. It addresses issues related to history, memory and indigenous culture. Indigenous peoples: how many and who we are. What Funai did not see. What does it mean to be fairly integrated. Autonomy. Contemporary Indigenou Literature in Under the coordination of Academic Domicio Proenca Filho, the seminar brought the theme The Indigenou in contemporary Brazil. Part of this text was also shared in the round of conversation, during the IX National Meeting of Indigenous Writers and Artists, held annually in Rio de Janeiro. In light of the words of Chief Seattle and the Solemn Declaration of Indigenous Peoples of the World Wheel of conversation in group 3, presented proposals for discussions about indigenous literature and environment, towards Rio +20 Forum.
