ResumoPolytheism and monotheism in Xenophanes. This study aims to compare two different theistic views, monotheism and polytheism, from the perspective of the remaining fragments of the work of Xenophanes of Colophon.Based on the author's historical context and a textual examination of some fragments, this study will discuss, on one hand, its proximity to and relationship with the philosophy of nature and the Eleatic school of Parmenides, and on the other hand, the title of father of monotheism that was given to him by some early theorists of the Catholic Church.
