ResumoThe increase in microcline content from the center toward the margin of the Trancoso granodiorite massif in north Portugal is considered due to the introduction of potash feldspar material from the surrounding younger porphyritic granite in late stages of its emplacement. The new microcline replaced plagioclase and quartz of the granodiorite, and preexisting microcline was recrystallized.
