ResumoPURPOSE: This study aimed to check the comparison of the physical fitness profiles of the professional soccer players according of performed positions. METHODS: In order to do this, 46 professional soccer players at Santos Futebol Clube were assessed in two different moments: before the championship and after four months. To collect the results we used the maximal oxygen uptake (MOU), maximal power (MP), fatigue index (FI) and vertical jump of goalkeepers (GO), defenders (DEF), defensive midfield players (DMP), full – backs (FB), midfield players (MD) and attackers (ATC). To obtain the analyses of the results, “t” student test to independent samples and p<0,05 were used. RESULTS: The results suggested that there is a different requirement during the match and during the training in different positions analyzed and that the differences are product of specific training for each performed position in the match. CONCLUSIONS: Therefore, we can conclude that each performed positions in the match needs specific attention to real physiological demand during the trainings. Table 1Table
