ResumoReaction of Cs 2 CO 3 and As 2 Te 3 in methanol at 145°C affords the telluridoarsenate(II) Cs 4 As 2 Te 6 . A trans conformation is observed for the centrosymmetric As 2 Te 4− 6 anions, which consist of two ѱ-tetrahedralo As(As)(Te 2 )Te units with a common As-As bond. The terminal As-Te distance of 2.554(2) Å is much shorter than the As-Te distance of 2.691(2) Å to the Te 2 unit, which exhibits a Te-Te bond length of 2.744(2) Å. Both of the independent cations are coordinated in an irregular manner by eight Te atoms.
