Resumo

Carried out this research to determine the effect of different levels of coverage of fertilization on the growth parameters of the third piece of cane (variety SP-791011) grown with and without supplementary irrigation in the area Distillery Miriri, municipality of Capim, PB. The experiment was a factorial arrangement 2 x 4 (with and without irrigation, and four rates of N fertilization for hedging and K2O) with three replications. The blade used for irrigation, 27.5 mm, was applied in the irrigation intervals of 12 days. The fertilization of coverage was composed of the elements N and K2O applied to respectively: N0 = 28 and 44, N1 = 68 and 106, N2 = 112 and 164, and N3 = 156 and 222 kg ha-1. Subjected to irrigation, the crop showed better performance in all parameters of growth, when compared with that in the absence of irrigation. The maximum number of stems per hectare was 91,944 (treatment W1 =1065 mm, and N3 = 378 kg ha-1), above, therefore, the ideal minimum of 90,000 stems ha -1 recorded in the literature.
