Resumo

Five species of commensal and parasitic pearlfishes were collected from four hosts at Puerto Galera, Mindoro Island, Philippines. Carapus homei was taken from respiratory trees and coelom of the holothurians Holothuria argus and Stichopus chloronotus; Jordanicus gracilis was taken from the coelom of the holothurian Holothuria argus; Carapus mourlani was taken from the coelom of the cushion starfish Culcita novaguineae; and, both Onuxodon parvibrachium and Onuxodon margaritiferae were taken from the mantle cavity of the rock oyster Pycnodonta hyotis. This study includes new host records for the Philippines for J. gracilis, C. homei, and C. mourlani; extension of range for 0. parvibrachium and 0. margaritiferae; and a new host record for 0. margaritiferae. Cohabitation of one host species by two pearlfish species is recorded with 0. parvibrachium and 0. margaritiferae for the first time. Sexual pairing in C. homei was of a greater tendency than previously reported.
