The purpose of this article is the conceptualization and definition of cultural heritage as well as its importance upon the identity and social memory.In this article we will point out the importance of preserving historical cores (quad core Presidente Prudente), highlighting the problems encountered with the homeowners craving recover your "old buildings" and the role of government towards the regeneration of cities.Will be presented the analysis of historical assets recorded in the city of Presidente Prudente center, based on the vision of authors who study and discourse on the topic historical cultural monuments, as well as conducting a survey in locus considering the primary buildings, which originated parallel to the growth of the old Vila Manoel Goulart, current President Prudente
