ResumoOn the basis of head capsule widths of field-collected larvae, Lissorhoptrus kuscheli O’Brien was found to have 4 instars. The mean head capsule widths are 0.16, 0.23, 0.34, and 0.48 mm for 1st to 4th instars, respectively. L. kuscheli was recovered from ‘Araure 1’ from 3 commercial rice growing areas of Estado Portuguesa, Venezuela. Adult densities were higher in Agua Blanca than in Turen and Durigua, Venezuela. Larval densities suggest 3 generations per year in this area of Venezuela.
