After preliminary experiments determined the response of the greenhouse whitefly, Trialeurodes vaporariorum (Westwood), to 2 tomato varieties (Delicious and Tiny Tim) (Curry and Pimentel 1971), a more extensive screening test of 90 tomato varieties was initiated. The objective was to find a resistant variety of tomato for further whitefly—tomato investigations.
