Long ago there was a man who had never seen a He asked someone who had seen one what it was like. second man said, A kirin is like a kirin. first man said, If I had seen a kirin I wouldn't be asking you. How can I understand when you only tell me that it is 'like a kirin'? second man replied, The body of a roebuck with an ox tail, deer's hooves, and a horse's spine-that's a kirin. first man understood immediately.'
