JCS published his article, “Philip Schaff and Sectarianism: The Americanization of a European Viewpoint” (Winter 1966), and other articles have appeared in Church History, Foundations, Journal of Presbyterian History, and Journal of the American Academy of Religion. Bowden's interests include religion and the American Indian as well as American church history.
