Irrigation Practices and Water Management

Resumo

The fruit has become an innovative activity, especially the use of skilled labor and specialized cultivation. This has led to the replacement of traditional crops of low profitability per crop whose production is intended mainly for foreign markets, optimized by the use of irrigation technologies and increased productivity.This situation has been observed in Agropoli in implementation and / or implemented in the State of Ceará. The BaixoAcaraú Irrigation District (DIBAU) covers the townsof Bela Cruz and Marco directly generating more than three thousand jobs in the region. The following paper aims to describe the current state of the DIBAU, showing their potential and importance to the State of Ceará. We interviewed all the producers of the perimeter, one being applied to each register. The personal data which identified the producer's property, the irrigation system and crops planted. Of the 556 lots are active registered 60.6%, 20.4% are without activity (virgin or no activity) and 19% chose not to participate. 3842 ha of irrigated only 65% are currently irrigated. The main crops are registered coconut, banana, guava and papaya with 40.12, 23.86, 9.20 and 6.25% respectively. The irrigation system predominant is microspriklerswith 82% ofthe irrigated area and only 4.79% of the irrigated area has a method of irrigationmanagement.
