Resumo

Kay Boyle's novel, My Next Bride (1934), concerns the moral development of its heroine, Victoria John, a young American artist who travels to Thirties Paris in search of Experience and Art, in retreat from American philistinism. The novel is thinly disguised autobiography. It details Boyle's own Left Bank experiences in Twenties Paris, experiences she recalled in the 1968 version of Robert McAlmon's 1938
