Resumo

The development of uterine sensitivity to decidualization and ovo-im plantation and the role of progesterone is reviewed. The synchronization of interactions between the ovum and endometrium the decidual cell response of the uterus uterine sensitivity and receptivity to the ovum decidual cell response as a model of the mechanism of the action of progesterone uterine receptivity to ovo-implantation the nature of estrogen activity during prenidation and the role of steroid hormone receptors in the development of uterine sensitivity and receptivity are discussed.
