CSNZ was one of the main headliners of the manguebeat movement, a musical and artistic scene that occurred in that city in the early 1990s.The investigated songs are from the albums Da lama ao caos (1994) and Afrociberdelia (1996), both released before the death of Chico Science, in February 1997.The discussion will encompass the appropriations and ways of narrating urban environments, scenarios, socio-economic situations and characters by the CSNZ's songs.
