ResumoFacing the new challenges of higher education, the professors, and leading actors in the transformation process, require a training process, not only a discipline one, but also educational, as part of their professional development. The university professor educational training corresponds with the need of professionalizing the university teaching. Thus it is important to understand it as a transformation´s notion. The present article develops a global and integrating conception of university professor educational training; and to do so, the activity theory is used, for it offers many possibilities to satisfactorily fulfill this requirement.
