ResumoIn 1975, works effected inside the church choir were the occasion to proceed to archaeological soundings, and their results, completed by the study of other documents, permitted to sketch the major stages of the evolution of the building. The primitive church whose flat-cheveted choir was dug out, knows in the Middle Ages and in modern times an exceptional destiny connected with the lise of the local squires, the Lalaings, who make of it their sepulchral church (Church nf the «Albums de Croy» around 1600). The 18th century church looks already more unpretentious (the country has meanwhile been sold). The present churc has kept testimonies of its successive remodel- lings, and thus gives the impression of a continuity whereas one should have concluded to definite ruptures (thorough reconstructions) on the light of the iconographie documents alone.
