Mutagenesis of Cigarette Smoke and Green Tea on Vicia faba L. Root Tip Cells

Resumo[Objective] The research aimed to study the micronucleus mutagenesis of different types of cigarette smoke aqueous extract on root tip cells of Vicia faba L.,and based on this,the inhibitory action of green additives on cigarette smoke induced micronuclei in vitro was discussed.[Method] The cigarette brand were Baisha,Zhongnanhai and Shipai,and the cigarette type was flue-cured type,mixed type and cigar type respectively.The aqueous extracts of smoke was one eighth of the mother liquor concentration,a quarter of mother liquor concentration and half the concentration of mother liquor respectively,and the tea extracts of smoke was a quarter of mother liquor.[Result] The results showed that the aqueous extracts of smoke could cause root tip cells of Vicia faba L.micronucleus change significantly,and within a certain range,the micronucleus rate strengthened with the concentration increase,thereinto,ShipaiBaishaZhongnanhai.Under the same concentration,the micronucleus rate caused by different type of tea extracts of smoke was lower than that of aqueous extracts of smoke.The inhibitory action of green tea on micronucleus mutagenesis of cigarette was as follow:Shipai Baisha Zhongnanhai.[Conclusion] The study can provide scientific basis for the feasibility of reducing tobacco and drugs by adding green tea.
