Research of Lossless Hyper-spectral Image Compression Algorithm Based on the Combination of DWT Transform and Substraction Transform

ResumoThis paper presents a new redundancy elimination approach,it uses CDF(2,2)DWT to eliminate spatial redundancy,substraction between frames and boundless extension CDF(2,2)DWT transform to remove spectral redundancy,and improved EBCOT algorithm to finish compression coding.The results show that in lossless image compression applications the method is much better than JPEG-LS,WinZip,AR,DPCM and the research result of a Chinese Academy of Sciences research team、NMST、MST.Using test set of Canal images of JPL laboratory as a example data set,on the average the compression ratio using this algorithm increases about 43%、38%、36%、31%、17%、13%、10%respectively comparing to the above algorithms.The algorithm presentes in this paper has priority in aspects such as computing efficiency and hardware realization convenience.
