Effects of steam heating treatment and xenon irradiation on surface color of moso bamboo

Resumo

The surface color and chemical composition of moso bamboo(phyllostachys pubescens) were observed by steam heating treatment and xenon irradiation.The results showed that color parameters of heat-treated bamboo had changed,lightness L* decreased,chromaticity parameters both a* and b* were plus compared with control group.With higher treatment temperature and longer treatment time,the chemical composition of bamboo surface had changed,Value a* and the overall color change(△E*) increased,to the contrary,b* decreased,which leaded to surface color of heat treated bamboo became darker and darker.With the exposure time increasing,the surface color of control group changed darker while the heat-treated bamboo color turned lighter and color changes became obviously.The overall color change(△E*)of heat-treated bamboo strap surfaces increased,and the change lower than control group.
