Resumo

A 54-year-old farmer suffered from facial chromoblastomycosis for 1 year is reported. The lesions on the face were infiltrated erythematous plaques, with scales and black crusts on the surface.Histopathology showed light brown chlamydospores.Microscopic examination of the crusts found round brown chlamydospores and brown septate hyphae. The colonies were greyish-black on SDA at 25℃.The strain isolated was identified as Fonsecaea pedrosoi based on the morphological features of rhinocladiella type and phialophora type conidiophores.Oral itraconazole got a good therapeutic effect.
