ResumoAbstractIn brief Exercise helps patients who have a wide range of medical conditions. Physicians can suggest it as an adjunct to treatment of non-insulin-dependent diabetes, peripheral vascular disease, and osteoporosis. Exercise attenuates the physiologic changes observed with aging and improves anxiety, depression, and self-esteem as well as many of the adverse effects of pregnancy.
