Objective:To investigate the effects of angelica sinensis on the expression of VEGF and laminin in the cerebral tissue after focal cerebral ischemia reperfusion in rats.Method:Sixty-five male Wistar rats with average body weight of 160-180g were randomly divided into a sham-operation group(group A), a ischemic group(group B) and a angelica sinensis group (group C). The model of the middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO) in rats was performed with the suture occlusion for two hours. The immunohistochemistry staining was used to observe the level of VEGF and laminin which had close relation with angiogenesis in the brain tissues among the group A,the group B and the group C at 3h,6h,12h,1d,3d,7d after ischemia reperfusion respectively.Result:Except the time point 3h,the expression of VEGF in the angelica sinensis group was higher than that in the other groups, the difference between the groups was significant(P0.05).The expression of laminin in the group C at 3d and 7d was higher than that in the group B or the group A (P0.05).Conclusion:The angelica sinensis can improve the level of angiogenesis in the cerebral ischemia.
