ResumoUse of the IPv6 technology in the Internet of Things(IoT) not only solves addressing and communication problems between IoT nodes and Internet end-hosts,but also overcomes the IP address deficiency and the lack of IP address security.Since IoT nodes are resource-constrained,four principles are proposed for IPv6 protocol simplification in the IoT.Simplifications of the IPv6 and DHCPv6 protocols are introduced based on those principles.Simulations show that the simplified protocols effectively implement the functionality of the original protocols while reducing energy and resource use.As a result,this enhances the IoT data transfer rate.
