ResumoOnly 5 joint projects(the MPE3 project has been shared by CNPC South America Corporation and PDVSA) and one project of PDVSA are running in the Orinoco heavy oil belt at present, and the daily oil production of the six projects is more than 11.7×104 t,the crude dilute daily production is about 8.8×104 t,the total producing area is 2 022 km2,which is less than 4% of the whole area;the producing reserves are about 216×108 t,the producing percentage is less than 11%,and from this sense, the development degree is very low.The heavy oil of Orinoco has great difference from other heavy oils in the world, and it has the characteristics of three highs one low and flowable. That is,high density(934-1 050 kg/m3),high sulfur(average 35 000 mg/L),high heavy metal nickel and vanadium(500 mg/L),low viscosity(generally lower than 20 Pa·s),easily forming foamy oil.The oil can flow and the single well production is very high under cold production(the production of the horizontal well under the cold production can be up to 200 t/d),the recovery of the cold production is low(5%-10%).
