ResumoSummaryThe first occurrence of Loxosceles laeta in North America is recorded and the habits of these spiders are described. Their venom possessed toxic properties like that of other Loxosceles spp., but specimens of the population under study seemed reluctant to bite guinea pigs. The spiders in this dense indoor infestation were controlled by applications of lindane and chlordane.
