RADIOLARIANS FROM THE MIDDLE PERMIAN KUHFENG FORMATION OF THE RENHUA AREA,SHAOGUAN,GUANGDONG PROVINCE

ResumoA well preserved Middle Permian radiolarian fauna of the Kuhfeng Formation is for the first time described from Renhua area of Shaoguan, Guangdong Province, South China. It is composed of 11 species, 3 unnamed, and 6 genera, belonging to 5 families and one order. This radiolarian fauna is named Pseudoalbaillella fusiformis Ps. globosa Assemblage, correlatable with the Ps. fusiformis Ps. longtanensis Zone of the Kuhfeng Formation in southern Jiangsu and Anhui provinces and with the Ps. globosa zone of the Bancheng Formation in Xiaodong—Bancheng area of Qingzhou, Guangxi Autonomous Region (South China). In addition, the distribution of the Kuhfeng Formation is analyzed and a discussion made on the selection of a reference section for the Kuhfeng Stage in South China.
