We report the first 2 cases of transitional cell carcinoma of the renal pelvis and an additional 4 cases of transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder following cyclophosphamide ingestion. Patients who have been taking daily oral cyclophosphamide for a prolonged period should have excretory urography, cystoscopy and bladder mucosal biopsies performed as part of a cancer surveillance protocol. © 1981 by The American Urological Association Education and Research, Inc.FiguresReferencesRelatedDetailsCited byFernandes E, Manivel J, Reddy P and Ercole C (2018) Cyclophosphamide Associated Bladder Cancer--A Highly Aggressive Disease: Analysis of 12 CasesJournal of Urology, VOL. 156, NO. 6, (1931-1933), Online publication date: 1-Dec-1996.Miller D and Kropp K (2018) Transitional Cell Carcinoma Associated with Crossed Renal Ectopia and Previous Cyclophosphamide TherapyJournal of Urology, VOL. 148, NO. 4, (1244-1246), Online publication date: 1-Oct-1992.Efros M, Ahmed T and Choudhury M (2018) Cyclophosphamide-Induced Hemorrhagic Pyelitis and Ureteritis Associated with Cystitis in Marrow TransplantationJournal of Urology, VOL. 144, NO. 5, (1231-1232), Online publication date: 1-Nov-1990.Matzkin H and Braf Z (2018) Multiple Primary Malignant Neoplasms in the Genitourinary Tract: Occurrence and EtiologyJournal of Urology, VOL. 142, NO. 1, (1-12), Online publication date: 1-Jul-1989.Levine L and Richie J (2018) Urological Complications of CyclophosphamideJournal of Urology, VOL. 141, NO. 5, (1063-1069), Online publication date: 1-May-1989.Brenner D and Schellhammer P (2018) Upper Tract Urothelial Malignancy after Cyclophosphamide Therapy: A Case Report and Literature ReviewJournal of Urology, VOL. 137, NO. 6, (1226-1227), Online publication date: 1-Jun-1987.Jerkins G, Noe H and Hill D (2018) An Unusual Complication of Silver Nitrate Treatment of Hemorrhagic Cystitis: Case ReportJournal of Urology, VOL. 136, NO. 2, (456-458), Online publication date: 1-Aug-1986.Sundar B, Patel S, Merrin C, Ray V, Ray P, Hoeksema J, Sharifi R and Guinan P (2018) Multiple Primary Tumors in a 72-Year-Old WomanJournal of Urology, VOL. 129, NO. 6, (1209-1212), Online publication date: 1-Jun-1983.Schiff H, Finkel M and Schapira H (2018) Transitional Cell Carcinoma of the Ureter Associated with Cyclophosphamide Therapy for Benign Disease: A Case ReportJournal of Urology, VOL. 128, NO. 5, (1023-1024), Online publication date: 1-Nov-1982.
