PreviewResearch on the hepatitis C virus (HCV) is currently very active, and a continuous stream of advances is coming forth. In this article, the authors present some recent developments in epidemiology and diagnosis, examine the relationship of HCV infection to other medical disorders, and discuss the effectiveness of current drug therapy.
