Eversion of the parietal tunica vaginalis without suture, or with absorbable or nonabsorbable suture produced excellent scarification, as did the use of talc. Absorbable and nonabsorbable suture, when placed between the parietal tunica vaginalis and tunica albuginea (visceral tunica vaginalis), produced only minor degrees of inflammation. Tetracycline instillation similarly failed to produce a significant inflammatory response. © 1988 by The American Urological Association Education and Research, Inc.FiguresReferencesRelatedDetailsCited ByKaplan G (2018) Re: Testicular Fixation Following Torsion of the Spermatic Cord—Does it Guarantee Prevention of Recurrent Torsion Events?Journal of Urology, VOL. 176, NO. 1, (413-414), Online publication date: 1-Jul-2006.HUTCHESON J, COOPER C and SNYDER H (2018) THE ANATOMICAL APPROACH TO INGUINAL ORCHIOPEXYJournal of Urology, VOL. 164, NO. 5, (1702-1704), Online publication date: 1-Nov-2000.Redman J and Barthold J (2018) Technique for Atraumatic Scrotal Pouch Orchiopexy in Management of Testicular TorsionJournal of Urology, VOL. 154, NO. 4, (1511-1512), Online publication date: 1-Oct-1995.Friedman R, López F, Tucker J, King L and Negro-Vilar A (2018) Fertility after Cryptorchidism: A Comparative Analysis of Early Orchidopexy with and Without Concomitant Hormonal Therapy in the Young Male RatJournal of Urology, VOL. 151, NO. 1, (227-233), Online publication date: 1-Jan-1994.Friedman R, Flashner S, Akwari O and King L (2018) An Experimental Model of Neonatal Testicular Torsion: Evidence Against an Exclusively Extravaginal EtiologyJournal of Urology, VOL. 150, NO. 1, (246-248), Online publication date: 1-Jul-1993.Lent V and Stephani A (2018) Eversion of the Tunica Vaginalis for Prophylaxis of Testicular Torsion RecurrencesJournal of Urology, VOL. 150, NO. 5 Part 1, (1419-1421), Online publication date: 1-Nov-1993.Dixon T, Ritchey M, Boykin W, Harper B, Zeidman E and Thompson I (2018) Transparenchymal Suture Fixation and Testicular Histology in a Prepubertal Rat ModelJournal of Urology, VOL. 149, NO. 5 Part 1, (1116-1118), Online publication date: 1-May-1993.Bellinger M, Abromowitz H, Brantley S and Marshall G (2018) Orchiopexy: An Experimental Study of the Effect of Surgical Technique on Testicular HistologyJournal of Urology, VOL. 142, NO. 2 Part 2, (553-555), Online publication date: 1-Aug-1989.Barada J, Weingarten J and Cromie W (2018) Testicular Salvage and Age-Related Delay in the Presentation of Testicular TorsionJournal of Urology, VOL. 142, NO. 3, (746-748), Online publication date: 1-Sep-1989.
