One man has the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome with lymphopenia, a low CD4:CD8 ratio, condylomata accuminata, Pneumocystis carinii and cerebral toxoplasmosis, and 1 has an acquired immunodeficiency syndrome related complex with generalized lymphadenopathy showing follicular hyperplasia on biopsy, recurrent Herpes simplex infections and lymphopenia but a supranormal CD4:CD8 ratio. Neither patient has a known risk factor for testicular seminoma. Our report provides supportive evidence for the presence of an increased risk of seminoma of the testis in patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome related complex. © 1989 by The American Urological Association Education and Research, Inc.FiguresReferencesRelatedDetailsCited ByBECK S, ULBRIGHT T and FOSTER R (2018) A BENIGN PARA-AORTIC LYMPH NODE OF HISTOLOGICALLY PROVED FOLLICULAR HYPERPLASIA MIMICKING METASTATIC GERM CELL CANCERJournal of Urology, VOL. 163, NO. 5, (1520-1521), Online publication date: 1-May-2000.Leibovitch I, Baniel J, Rowland R, Smith E, Ludlow J and Donohue J (2018) Malignant Testicular Neoplasms in Immunosuppressed PatientsJournal of Urology, VOL. 155, NO. 6, (1938-1942), Online publication date: 1-Jun-1996.Wilson W, Frenkel E, Vuitch F and Sagalowsky A (2018) Testicular Tumors in Men with Human Immunodeficiency VirusJournal of Urology, VOL. 147, NO. 4, (1038-1040), Online publication date: 1-Apr-1992.Richie J (2018) Editorial CommentJournal of Urology, VOL. 147, NO. 4, (1040-1040), Online publication date: 1-Apr-1992.Sokovich R, Bormes T and Mckiel C (2018) Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome Presenting as Testicular LymphomaJournal of Urology, VOL. 147, NO. 4, (1110-1111), Online publication date: 1-Apr-1992.Wilkinson M and Carroll P (2018) Testicular Carcinoma in Patients Positive and at Risk for Human Immunodeficiency VirusJournal of Urology, VOL. 144, NO. 5, (1157-1159), Online publication date: 1-Nov-1990.
