ResumoThe First International Congress of Qualitative Research (ICQR) was launched in 2005 by a group of qualitative researchers from the English-speaking world, led by Norman Denzin. Through its organization, ICQR began promoting the development of Qualitative Inquiry critical knowledge, searching for quality enhancement and the emergence of a critical qualitative researchers’ organization capable to confront to the political, scientific, and academic problems of the decade. In 2007, within the Third ICQI was launched ADIS (A Day in Spanish and Portuguese) with the purpose of bringing the Spanish speaking scholars’ voice into the Congress. Later on, with the incorporation of Portuguese speaking scholars ADIS transformed into ADISP (A Day in Spanish and Portuguese). This paper provides some information and reflections about our ADIS-ADISP experience. Qualitative Research pioneers and editors consider ADIS-ADISP an important precedent from where the necessity to develop a meeting editorial space for Spanish and Portuguese qualitative researchers arouse and materialized in this Journal.
