ResumoKey Points Bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cells transfer functional mitochondria to AML cells in vitro and in vivo through endocytic pathways. This mitochondria transfer is enhanced by some chemotherapies and confers a survival advantage to leukemic blasts and leukemia initiating cells.
