Resumo

In the paranoid adaptation to posttraumatic stress civilian life is treated as an extention of combat. This adaptation and its relation to the way in which the veteran experienced events in combat is discussed. A case illustration is utilized to show how this form of posttraumatic stress disorder can be treated in psychotherapy.
