ResumoThe most important symptom in patients with severe organ-threatening ischemia is pain. Spinal cord stimulation has opened up new possibilities regarding the beneficial effect on pain in these cases. When all classic firsthand measures have failed, electrical stimulation of the nervous system by means of implantable nerve stimulators may give the patient adequate pain relief.
