Until recently, size limitations have prevented the technique from being used in small children. We have used ureteroscopy for diagnosis and therapy in 4 children less than 10 years old. There was no significant morbidity from the procedure in our patients. © 1990 by The American Urological Association Education and Research, Inc.FiguresReferencesRelatedDetailsCited byDogan H, Onal B, Satar N, Aygun C, Piskin M, Tanriverdi O, Gurocak S, Gunay L, Burgu B, Ozden E, Nazli O, Erdem E, Yucel S, Kefi A, Demirci D, Uluocak N, Aridogan I, Turunc T, Yalcin V, Kilinc M, Horasanli K, Tan M, Soygur T, Sarikaya S, Kilicarslan H, Turna B, Doruk H and Tekgul S (2018) Factors Affecting Complication Rates of Ureteroscopic Lithotripsy in Children: Results of Multi-Institutional Retrospective Analysis by Pediatric Stone Disease Study Group of Turkish Pediatric Urology SocietyJournal of Urology, VOL. 186, NO. 3, (1035-1040), Online publication date: 1-Sep-2011.Smaldone M, Cannon G, Wu H, Bassett J, Polsky E, Bellinger M, Docimo S and Schneck F (2018) Is Ureteroscopy First Line Treatment for Pediatric Stone Disease?Journal of Urology, VOL. 178, NO. 5, (2128-2131), Online publication date: 1-Nov-2007.Singh A, Shah G, Young J, Sheridan M, Haas G and Upadhyay J (2018) Ureteral Access Sheath for the Management of Pediatric Renal and Ureteral Stones: A Single Center ExperienceJournal of Urology, VOL. 175, NO. 3, (1080-1082), Online publication date: 1-Mar-2006.Lesani O and Palmer J (2018) Retrograde Proximal Rigid Ureteroscopy and Pyeloscopy in Prepubertal Children: Safe and EffectiveJournal of Urology, VOL. 176, NO. 4, (1570-1573), Online publication date: 1-Oct-2006.HUBERT K and PALMER J (2018) PASSIVE DILATION BY URETERAL STENTING BEFORE URETEROSCOPY: ELIMINATING THE NEED FOR ACTIVE DILATIONJournal of Urology, VOL. 174, NO. 3, (1079-1080), Online publication date: 1-Sep-2005.SATAR N, ZEREN S, BAYAZIT Y, ARIDOĐAN I, SOYUPAK B and TANSUĐ Z (2018) RIGID URETEROSCOPY FOR THE TREATMENT OF URETERAL CALCULI IN CHILDRENJournal of Urology, VOL. 172, NO. 1, (298-300), Online publication date: 1-Jul-2004.Schuster T, Russell K, Bloom D, Koo H and Faerber G (2018) Ureteroscopy For The Treatment Of Urolithiasis In ChildrenJournal of Urology, VOL. 167, NO. 4, (1813-1816), Online publication date: 1-Apr-2002.LANDAU E, GOFRIT O, SHAPIRO A, MERETYK S, KATZ G, SHENFELD O, GOLIJANIN D and PODE D (2018) EXTRACORPOREAL SHOCK WAVE LITHOTRIPSY IS HIGHLY EFFECTIVE FOR URETERAL CALCULI IN CHILDRENJournal of Urology, VOL. 165, NO. 6 Part 2, (2316-2319), Online publication date: 1-Jun-2001.Van Savage J, Palanca L, Andersen R, Rao G and Slaughenhoupt B (2018) TREATMENT OF DISTAL URETERAL STONES IN CHILDREN: SIMILARITIES TO THE AMERICAN UROLOGICAL ASSOCIATION GUIDELINES IN ADULTSJournal of Urology, VOL. 164, NO. 3 Part 2, (1089-1093), Online publication date: 1-Sep-2000.Lim D, Walker R, Ellsworth P, Newman R, Cohen M, Barraza M and Stevens P (2018) Treatment of Pediatric Urolithiasis Between 1984 and 1994Journal of Urology, VOL. 156, NO. 2S, (702-705), Online publication date: 1-Aug-1996.Thomas R, Ortenberg J, Lee B and Harmon E (2018) Safety and Efficacy of Pediatric Ureteroscopy for Management of Calculous DiseaseJournal of Urology, VOL. 149, NO. 5 Part 1, (1082-1084), Online publication date: 1-May-1993.Burbige K (2018) Ureteral Reimplantation: A Comparison of Results with the Cross-Trigonal and Politano-Leadbetter Techniques in 120 PatientsJournal of Urology, VOL. 146, NO. 5, (1352-1353), Online publication date: 1-Nov-1991.
