Vaginal fimbriectomy with the use of the culdoscope.

Resumo116 women were operated on from November 1974 to March 1976 using the culdoscope. 62 received epidural block anesthesia and 54 received neurolept-analgesia. Indications for surgery included medical problems and birth control. The operating procedure is outlined. The average operating time was 15.8 minutes under epidural and 9 minutes under neurolept-analgesia. The procedure was without complication in any of the patients. Patients complained of moderate shoulder or superior hemiabdominal pain along with a sensation of abdominal distention lasting 24-48 hours. The average time of hospitalization is short and patients can return to their normal daily routine within 36 hours. The period of postoperative clinical observation has been 16 months.
