Resumo

116 women were operated on from November 1974 to March 1976 using the culdoscope. 62 received epidural block anesthesia and 54 received neurolept-analgesia. Indications for surgery included medical problems and birth control. The operating procedure is outlined. The average operating time was 15.8 minutes under epidural and 9 minutes under neurolept-analgesia. The procedure was without complication in any of the patients. Patients complained of moderate shoulder or superior hemiabdominal pain along with a sensation of abdominal distention lasting 24-48 hours. The average time of hospitalization is short and patients can return to their normal daily routine within 36 hours. The period of postoperative clinical observation has been 16 months.
