ResumoThe soft contact lens patient requiring tonometry presents a problem to the practitioner utilizing the Goldmann applanation technique. Standard fluorescein dye used to obtain findings will permanently stain lenses. Fluorexon, a fluorescent dye specially formulated to be compatible with most soft lens materials, has been substituted for fluorescein sodium in a variation to the Goldmann procedure. A comparison study of these two techniques has been conducted. Test methods and results are discussed.
