ResumoStepped spillways are hydraulic structures characterized by significant resistance imposed upon the flow and by the dissipation of energy associated with the macro-roughness promoted by the steps, resulting in the reduction of downstream dissipation structures.The present study aims to verify the characteristics of the energy dissipation due to this roughness in a stepped spillway flume with a slope of 1V:0.75H through experimental analysis of physical model data e comparing it with data from different sources, aiming to determine flow characteristics, such as aeration length, water surface level, flume resistance coefficient and residual energy, allowing the design of safer and more economical structures.
