Paraphrasing Joan, the character played by Angelina Jolie in Playing by Heart (1998, Willard Carroll, USA; UK) talking about art could be like dancing about architecture, but it isn't pointless. How to define contemporary art? The complexity of art resides in the fact that it is a language made of situated emotions. Art takes detours from reality (it doesn't seek to reproduce it) because its objective is not to present factual descriptions, logical sequences or objective and consensual visions.
