Since 1993 the Wexner Center's director Sherri Geldin has led an amazing arts and design program, making Columbus's contemporary art, architecture, and design activities rival or exceed those of larger and supposedly more progressive Midwestern environments such as Chicago and Minneapolis. In addition to their very strong film showings, the Wexner usually hosts four to six exhibitions per year, with one on architecture or design about every other year. For instance, they recently installed Architecture Interruptus (2007), an exhibition on the posthumous completion of Le Corbusier's 1970 Church of St. Pierre in Firminy.
