Resumo

Diagnosis and treatment of eating disorders has become relatively more common in psychiatric practice. This article reviews the major phrmacologic approaches to bulimia, anorexia nervosa, and obesity. The range of medication strategies is increasing for each of these disorders, but the importance of concomitant behavioral and psychotherapeutic approaches needs to be emphasized.
