ResumoAlthough very distant from the South China Sea, Australia, India and Japan are increasingly taking part in the current geopolitical struggle in the region. This chapter analyses those countries’ strategies through the lens of three approaches: Democratic Peace Theory (DPT), Balance of Threat Theory (BOT) and Regional Security Complex Theory (RSCT).
