ResumoAs frequently happens with light trap collections, only females were taken and in this sex the species aspersum and rostratum cannot be distinguished. In distribu tion, aspersum is most frequently encountered north of the Amazon with records from Guyana, Suriname and Venezuela, but with isolated records from Mato Grosso, Para and possibly Minas Gerais in Brasil. In contrast, rostratum is generally found more to the south with records from Argentina and Uruguay and in Brasil from Amazonas, Mato Grosso, Para and a single record from Roraima. Thus, I can not be certain of the specific identity of these specimens, although it seems most probable that they are aspersum based on overall distribution.
