ResumoIn brief A 24-year-old man had been reusing needles to inject anabolic-androgenic steroids intramuscularly and developed a thigh abscess. He was treated with intravenous antibiotics, and the abscess was surgically drained. The case highlights the danger of intramuscular steroid injection and of reusing needles.
