ResumoAbstract This chapter discusses quality assurance (QA) for newborn screening programs. It describes the Newborn Screening Quality Assurance Program (NSQAP) at the CDC in Atlanta, Georgia, which provides services for laboratories that use specimens of dried-blood spots (DBSs) to perform newborn screening tests. The mission of this program is to improve interlaboratory comparability and to work toward interlaboratory standardization.
