ResumoA phytosociological analysis of the vegetation of the volcanoes Tlaloc and Pelado located south and southeast of Mexico City was carried out. The Braun-Blanquet approach (1951), especially the SIGMATISTA school, was used to define the plant communities, which were named after the diagnostic species of each community. The main vegetation units were identified through aerial-photograph interpretation. In total 177 releves were made in all natural and seminatural vegetation units in the study area.
