espanolEn la segunda mitad del siglo XVI y las primeras decadas del XVII, la imagen que en Espana se tiene de Escandinavia es la de un territorio recondito y brumoso, en el que se situan todo tipo de fenomenos sobrenaturales. La idea de la determinacion climatica de los pueblos y la vigencia del goticismo aportan una vision respectivamente negativa y positiva de las gentes septentrionales. La Guerra de los Treinta Anos acerca cognitivamente al imaginario geografico de los espanoles estas tierras y sus habitantes, que pierden desde entonces su caracter misterioso. EnglishIn the second half of the 16th and the first decades of the 17th century, the image Spaniards have of Escandinavia is that of a far away and misty land where all sorts of supernatural phenomena take place. The idea of climactic determinism together with goticism offer respectively a negative and positive image of the northern peoples. The Thirty Years War brought closer this land and its people to the geograhical imaginary of Spaniards, losing forever in the process their misterious character
