ResumoAbstract A mixture of N-(l-α-aspartyl)- and N-(l-β-aspartyl)-β-d-glucopyranosylamine was obtained by the condensation of N-(benzyloxycarbonyl)-l-aspartic anhydride with β-d-glucopyranosylamine. Attempts to separate the mixture by using cation-exchange chromatography, a copper(II) complex, and fractional recrystallization were carried out. These separations gave good yields of the desired β-amine.
